Sunat Aidilfitri Prayer

Takbir, tahmid and tasbih resounded nationwide as the country celebrates Hari Raya Aidilfitri. It was a show of gratitude towards Allah Subahanahu Wata'ala for His blessings that allow Muslims in the country to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The celebration began with the Sunat Aidilfitri Prayer at all mosques, suraus and religious halls. His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam joined citizens and residents in performing the Sunat Aidilfitri prayer at Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampung Kiarong, 11th April morning. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Chief of Adat Istiadat; Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs; and Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence. 

Also present were His Majesty's sons:
- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;
- And His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen. 

The Sunat Hari Raya Aidilfitri Prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar. 

In first Khutbah or Sermon, Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs touched on forgiveness. 

Meanwhile, the second Khutbah reminded Muslims to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri in moderation. 

Prior to leaving Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, His Majesty and members of the Royal Family received junjung ziarah from the congregants.
